Looking for Advice, best way to build new course

May 23, 2017

Hello all!

I am working on a course where the student has to view instruction, but also needs to view a large image to interact with and/or make different decisions. I am wondering if I can/should use master slides or if I need to create everything on the slides themselves? Is there a way to have a slide master with a hide/show menu that allows you to edit the text when the menu is open on different slides? Or do I need to do all that animation on the slides them selves in order to be able to change the text?

Hi Melissa!

Any text you add to a Slide Master layout will also appear on all of the slides with the same layout. It might be more useful to use text placeholders so that you can actually edit the text from Slide View.

If you are using the same menu over and over, you may want to consider putting the menu on a layer. The layer can be easily copied to other slides and edited on a slide-by-slide basis.
