Hello there! Im not very advanced at articulate and I have no one to ask questions to when I get stuck! :( Can anyone help me with this situation:
I have a slide with 4 layers. I made the user click on each layer before they could continue to the next slide. The problem is if they dont click on them in order 1-4 it throws the whole thing off and the user is stuck.
as Leslie said, easier for someone to help if they can see your file setup. In the meantime here is a demo I did recently that may help you - if not, when you upload your story file someone will surely help you.
Thank you both for your quick replies! Here is the portion of my project that I'm having issues with - Slides 1 and 3 specifically. If the layers aren't clicked in order, the user cant continue. Thank you Wendy for your demo! Im going to keep it for a reference!
not sure i understand what you are trying to achieve.
If you want them to view out of order, if I click 4 first - I see this - shouldn't I only be seeing the information relevant to layer 4? and there is no close layer so not sure how to get back to 1, 2, or 3
Sorry for my delay... I was pulled away to work on something else.
This slide is basically my table of contents but I wanted to make it interactive to keep user interest :) I wanted the user to start with 1 and then keep them open 1-4 as they clicked. When I had it reviewed it was brought to my attention that if you click them out of order it disables the next button.
I want to set it up so it doesn't matter if they click on the numbers out of order. I just want to make sure all of them have been selected before the user continues.
Hey Nicole - I see the issue that Wendy mentioned above and she's right. With your set-up, the user could not go 'out of order' because the new pentagons covered the ones on the base layer.
I've hidden the non-active ones on the layers so that you can still click on the base layer and I think this alleviates the issue you were originally reporting.

Hey Nicole - You can certainly ask those questions here :)
Would you be able to share your .story file so that we can take a look and assist? Just let us know the slide in question.
