I need to animate a shape to loop/repeat, all I can find is the option to do a full turn or to turn twice. Is there a way to loop or repeat he animation?
there are different options to loop something and it depends a little bit of what you want to loop. A motion path or animations like fading etc.
I build you a little example of how you can loop things. If you loop via layer you have to pay attention to if it´s hidden by any other layer later or not and maybe add triggers accordingly. Hope it helps.
Hi more explanation on what I've done, I've created a shape and used an animation to give it 2 spins, is there anyway of making this continue until something is pressed.
Duplicate the object and set object2 to a default position of hidden. Create trigger on object1: Change state of object2 to normal when animation - entrance- completes on object1. Create another trigger on object1: Change state of object1 to hidden when animation - entrance - completes on object 1. Repeat the triggers for object2, with the appropriate changes. Set the duration of the animations to get the effect you want.
Stopping the looping is a little more involved. I would set them to spin only once, because when the user clicks, the animation currently in progress will complete. See the attached sample.
Thanks Walt for your reply, I've tried applying your suggestion to my page, but no luck. I've included an example of what i'm trying to achieve. As you can see the 2 radar tracks do 2 "loops" and stop, it is these I want to continue until stop is pressed.
I added the triggers to the larger track, and in the process uncovered the most fascinating bug. Let it run for a while; it's worth it. It is unique to version 3, because SL2 doesn't do that.
I don't know. Maybe you can make the animation last long enough that it isn't noticed.
Hi there Paul! So sorry you're having trouble with a looping animation. We are seeing an issue in both Storyline 360 and Storyline 3 where the spin entrance animation adds an extra spin each time the state changes back to Normal in HTML5.
The Flash output should work correctly, so you'll want to point to that output until we find a solution for this bug.
I'll tag this thread to be updated as soon as a fix is released!

Hi Susi, thanks for your reply, I am trying to create a circle spinning endlessly, all I can get is to repeat twice, through the options

My system is playing up, so a colleague uploaded it

So the speeding up is a bug? I've only used SL3.
Thanks for your time Walt.
Not if that's what you want it to do :)
In SL2, those objects rotate at the same speed forever.
No, just want the same speed all of the time :/

Thanks for your reply Alyssa, unfortunately we are trying to avoid all use of flash.
