As soon as I posted this I saw the related content on the right side of the screen where John Clark gives the answer: type "=Lorem()". I knew it was easy...
I have the hardest time getting this to work. Seems like sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. I can't see the lorem ipsum or random text when I preview or publish the course.
Is there a trick to getting this to work consistently?
This [=articulate()] could be an awesome easter egg, guys. :D I knew about the lorem one, but not the rand one. (I vaguely remember the rand one from word years ago, but didn't find it particularly useful).

Glad you got that figured out Brett :) I use it often as well.
Did you know if exist some others code or functions code like this [=Lorem()] into storyline 2?
I seem to remember that inserting [=Anderson_Kuhlmann()] inserts a variety of beautifully designed and pedagogically correct learning tracks...
Hi Stefano
=rand() will also give you some random text within storyline

LOL
Haha, David, I'll admit I actually tried this after Bruce made this post :D
I just tried it, too... Maybe David should get this added.
:)
This is great! Happy Friday!
Hi Helen, over a = rand () there are other codes for other purposes for Storyline 2?
Hi Stefano,
Not that I know of the 'lorem' and 'rand' shortcuts are standard Windows shortcuts that work in Word & PPT as well as Storyline.
You could research to see if there are more of those and test them in Storyline
Helen
I just checked and the variables that are available in Word also work:
=lorem(p,l)
Where "p" equals the number of paragraphs and "l" equals the number of sentences.
=rand(p,l) also works - it inserts "the quick brown fox..."
Thanks for popping in to share Jim :)

Feature request sent :D
It does not work for me; do I have an old version?
What exactly do I have to do? Insert Text Box; then type Lorem(); ENTER; correct?
Insert text box and type "=Loren()"
You'll want to enter it just as follows:
=lorem()
If you want multiple paragraphs you can put a number in the ( )
There are also a lot of random Lorem ipsum text generators and here is a cool article by Tom with ideas.
Thank you! I was missing the '=' sign.
No worries - I honestly forget sometimes too! But the funny text generators also can be fun...and now I am dreaming of bacon... :)

I know, I love this simple little feature :)
I typed =lorem() into a text box but nothing happened. Does anyone have any idea why?
CJ
Hi CJ!
After typing =lorem() , press the Enter key. This is what should happen:
Let me know if that works for you!
