2 part issue

1 Changed computers and had to have articulate reinstalled on my new computer, is there anyway the old files that I created can be recovered?

2 Created Storyline project in the office. Went home and opened the project file using VPN and closed out of the file. Today receiving the message below:

***The file "Structure Team Huddle.story" is being used by another process or you do not have the proper security permission to access this resource.***

Please Help. Thank you

Hi Stephanie and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

Sorry to hear you're having difficulty due to a new computer. The irony, right?

1. Your file management is not within the software itself, much like other programs, but on the hard drive. Is your IT Team perhaps pulling your files off your old equipment so you will have access to the project files?

2. Curious if there is a process hung somewhere in the background perhaps. Have you re-booted your computer?

Did you make any changes to the file? You may be able to find a copy of that file in your temp folder. Here's how to check:

1) Open this folder in Windows Explorer: %appdata%\Articulate\Storyline

2) Scan the contents of this folder for a file that starts with the name of your project. If you find one, copy it to your desktop. If you find more than one, copy the latest version to your desktop.

3) Change the file extension of the copy on your desktop from *.tmp to *.story.

4) Double-click the file to open it in Storyline.
