I did something stupid: I created a lovely puzzle about human skin but I ca't find the '.story' file anymore, I have the '.zip' and the 'ouput'. Can this be of any help?
Unfortunately you'll need the .story file to make any changes to it. If you have the published output and/or a zipped version of it, you can use that to load up to an LMS or web server.
You may be able to recover the file with file recovery software.
I have used and recommend Recuva, which is a free program.
I suggest you do not work on any other files, open programs, or do anything else on your PC until you have installed and run Recuva to check if it can recover the file. This is to avoid the possibility of your deleted files being overwritten with new files, which makes the recovery process even harder.
To maximise the chances of recovering the file, I suggest you install Recuva on a different hard drive to the one that the file was saved on (I.e. if you saved your e-learning work to C drive, install Recuva to D drive)
Thank you Ashley and Jacob for answering my question, I will try to recover, when not - well I still have the zip-file so the moduel in the LMS can go on.
