Looks like you are jumping to another slide prior to the state change :)
Articulate Storyline lets you apply multiple triggers to the same object. You can also apply triggers to master slides and content slides. Here are the rules regarding the order in which all these triggers get executed when learners view your published course.

Set the slide properties of the slide with the object to 'Resume Saved state'.
Thanks, Michael! I've done that, but it doesn't seem to be working during the preview. Do I need to publish to see it?
You should see in preview as well Lori. Do you have a .story file you'd like us to take a look at?

It's slide 1.4. Each note card takes you to another scene. I want the note cards to stay 'visited' upon returning to slide 1.4.
Only the Auto and Property cards are fleshed out.
Oh - and disregard the layers on 1.4. I'll be removing them. :)
