Major Functionality Issues with Articulate Storyline 1 Course Conversion to Articulate Storyline 2

Nov 30, 2015

Hello Support Team,

We are experiencing some major functionality issues with ASL1 to ASL2 conversion causing drag and drop interactions not to function correctly, and submit buttons to disappear on both free form quizzes and actual quiz banks. I recently converted an older course from Articulate Storyline 1 to Articulate Storyline 2.  We have rebuilt the trouble spots both within the newly converted course as well as externally yet issues persist with this particular story.file.

The issue seems to be in trying to convert module interactions and quiz banks from Storyline 1 to Storyline 2. I am working on these files from a local drive as recommended by Articulate and have published to the intended environment both to Articulate Online and my clients LMS.  In preview mode all works well with no issues.  The submit buttons appear, and drag and drop interactions function correctly, however once published buttons are missing.  My desktop environment includes Windows 10 on a new computer using Microsoft Edge.  I have also tested from an older computer using updated Firefox browser, Vista Home OS,  and the buttons and interactions are still missing or not working there as well.  I even took the added step of, installing Firefox 10 and updated our Javasetup8u66 since java does is not supported by Windows 10 or Microsoft Edge...this made no difference.

I thought perhaps the file was corrupted during conversion but since then I have imported to a new AS2 file and the results are still the same, no error message stating a corrupt file but buttons are not working when published.  This would seem to indicate that the issue resides with the conversion of the course from AS1 to AS2.

So I took the original file working correctly in AS1 and did a straight conversion to AS2 and those same interactions and quiz submit buttons are instantly inoperable.   I  was able to confirm before any changes requested by the client were ever made that the source is indeed the software upgrade to AS2.  Additionally, I have rebuilt the quiz interactions separate within AS2 and they work fine but as soon as I bring in the newly converted AS2 client file in question into a newly created course issues begin to arise in terms of functionality.

Troubleshooting steps completed include:

1.      (6) six uninstall/re-installation and repair attempts of Articulate Storyline

2.      New file creation, interactions and quiz rebuilds within converted course

3.      Course imports and separate rebuilds of interactions in question

4.      Most recent A2 Update 7 installed

5.      DPI adjustments for Windows 10

6.      Erratic Behavior steps completed sited here http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline-2/unexpected-or-erratic-behavior-in-articulate-storyline-2

·        Performed sl2Cleanup.bat file and select Run as administrator, as described in the erratic behaviors post

·        Confirmed  .NET Framework 4.6 Advanced Services activation feature is on

This is the last step before we launch the course and I'd like to have this issue resolved immediately to ensure on time delivery of our product to our customers.  We have been troubleshooting for over a week and need someone from Articulate to step in.  Please provide a link for private upload to expedite the troubleshooting process. Two troubleshooting case tickets were submitted last week requesting assistance however I have not received a response.  Any immediate assistance you can provide would be appreciated.

Thank you
