Major Issue with Player Customization

Aug 15, 2013

I've mentioned this before to no avail, so I thought I'd try again.

We just bought Storyline and are excited to use it. But we need to have the Oracle logo (a simple JPG is what I'm using) in the player.

Whenever I try to publish, it runs through the publish cycle but doesn't finish. When I click on the Player button to modify it, I get a "memory low" error, which is incorrect.

I'm not sure what to do. Almost two weeks ago I submitted my course sample to Articulate for review/help with this issue.

In the meantime, every time I make one single change, I have to put the course into a NEW course and create a NEW player because it works the first time through, just not on subsequent publishes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm finding this overly frustrating.

Hi Michelle,

I see your case where Tom sent some additional information on July 31. I've copied it below in case you didn't receive it:

When creating, editing, and publishing Articulate Storyline courses, be sure you're working on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes, and loss of resources. See this article for more information.

I also wanted to point you to this article, as I didn't see mention of the logo causing the issue within your Support case. We've seen this issue with some image files, and have found that using a different image file has resolved the issue.

If you'd like to continue working with Tom on the issue, you can submit a new Support case and reference your original case (# 00348200) or find the email he sent on July 31 (it would have come from support@articulate.com.)
