Making a dial pie chart

Hello,
I want to create a non-graded question where there user adjusts a pie chart to display the percentage for the answer. I would like the fill of the pie chart to adjust to show the percentage.
The correct answer is not a round number (e.g. 57%) so my original idea of using multiple states in 5 or 10 degree increments won't work - it needs to be done in 1% increments. I don't want to have 360 states to get it to display! I've seen an example or two online (e.g. elearningdesigner.com) that I could make work, but I can't tell how it was achieved.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!

Looking at that example it probably uses states but only 100
Thanks Phil - You're right, I should have said 100, but I would still expect 100 states (and their associated images) to be too much of a burden within a course. I'd love to hear if anyone knows of a way of linking the variable value to the fill proportion, or something like that...
If you use a chart widget, you won't have to create 100 states: https://cluelabs.com/single-chart-elearning-widget.html You will only need to provide the names of the variables with the values and the widget will draw the chart.
