How about showing/fading images in between just to simulate the tilting animation. So we will have a series of images in between in tilted position ready to show and fade with a certain timing.
Since Storyline lacks the emphasis animations that PowerPoint has, you can do this in PowerPoint using the Spin animation and then send it out to a video which you could then import into Storyline. See attached.
The only downside is that, when rendering text to a video format, the text tends to blur a little bit.
It might just be me, but I don't think that tilting the scale AND the two textblocks TOGETHER is the way to go. If at all, the scale should tilt and the textblocks should move up/down vertically.
Yes, that would work too, particularly if Laurie would like the scale to be interactive (though a smooth automatic rotation could be accomplished with a short repeating layer that increments the dial position 1 degree at a time).
Michael, I created a shape for the scale. Then I converted into a dial. Now I am trying to create different states to show it tilting to the left. However, it's not letting me move the shape when editing the state. I am not sure if using states is the way to go but how can I make it move without user interaction? I know you said to put a transparent shape. I am not sure how that works.
Sure this can be done. See attached a slightly revised example. I'm using a looped motion path animation to increase/decrease the value of the dial variable.
This is very cool! Thank you for sharing. Trying to decipher the triggers. You should definitely consider offering video tutorial. (wink wink) Thank you again!

Hi Laurie
are you wanting the user to interact with this or do you want it to just move slowly like an animation?
Move slowly like animation.

Certainly easy enough to do, Michael. I think the challenging part is tilting the scale.
The scale could be a custom dial.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I am not well versed in using the dial. Do you have suggestions for tutorials?
Also I wasn't looking to make the dial interactive. I want the scale to move up as the narration flows.
Here is some info about working with dials. If you don't want the dial to be interactive, you can just place a transparent shape over it.

Hi,
I have created Tilt animation. Hope this will helps.
Wow and thank you! Is there a way to get it to automatically tilt to one side without having to press a button?
I have to do something very similar and would like to know how to do this without a button press as well.
Hi Laurie,
Just transfer the Button trigger to a Slide Trigger.

I agree a video tutorial would be great. I am someone who needs step by step guides.
Thanks for this. I tried doing motion path but I couldn't get it to move like I wanted.
