We would like to make our Survey Monkey surveys mandatory, so that the course is incomplete if the user doesn't complete the survey. However, we also want to have a quiz in the same course, which is Pass/Incomplete.
I can't imagine how to do this: not allow the user's quiz score to go to the LMS unless the survey is completed.
I suspect you may be able to make the Survey Monkey mandatory with Javascript - so for that I'd have to defer to the community. You could also use built-in survey questions with your quiz questions to be captured and reported as a part of the normal Storyline tracking process. For that, you would need to use two results slides, as explained here. And in case you're interested, here's some information about what data is sent to LMS from Storyline.
Since Javascript is a bit too technical for me, the two Result slides sound like that may work. However, can I combine 2 results slides - one of which is graded and one which is a survey for a composite score?
Yes, you can have a result slide for the Survey, a result slide for the Quiz, and a third result slide to combine the first two. I'd test it with a few sample slides to make sure it returns what you are expecting it to return.
For the third result slide, select 'Calculate results for: Selected results slides' instead of 'Selected questions'.
Give it a try, and let me know if it works for you!
did you try uploading to Scormcloud and see if it reports correctly. That might give an indication if you need to look at Storyline or your Litmos settings.
I'm very under the pump and time poor. What is the learning curve like on Scormcloud? I looked at it once, but didn't find it user friendly, so haven't been able to use it yet.
Here is a test file of the idea of what I want to do.
I know you CAN embed Survey Monkeys into a page, and I have seen others do it, but I add it as Javascript and it doesn't do a thing when I click the button.
I have to admit I'm not an expert with Javascript, so I'll defer to the community for assist with that set-up. However I'm happy to hear that the results slide worked as expected! Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to assist. :)

Thanks for your response, Alyssa.

I tried adding the SurveyMonkey javascript, but it wouldn't work when I published my Storyline file to my Litmos LMS.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Do I publish it as SCORM? Tin Can doesn't work with the Javascript embedded into my course.
Hi Victoria

Hi Wendy,
I'm very under the pump and time poor. What is the learning curve like on Scormcloud? I looked at it once, but didn't find it user friendly, so haven't been able to use it yet.
That's a subjective question Victoria. I've never had a problem. I created a free account and I sign in, upload the zip folder and click launch.
If you want to send me the published zip I can upload it for you and send you the link to test - will that help you?
That would be great! I have embedded the code into my project using the Javascript that SurveyMonkey provides. It's not working in Litmos.

Hi Victoria
I have uploaded to Scormcloud.
Here is the link - you should be able to access the link and click the launch button to test it
Thanks again Wendy. Nope. It didn't work there, either.
Hi Victoria
just reading your post above and the two options : JS or two result slides, so you have opted for the JS - did the two result slides not work either?
Yes, the result slide worked, just not the surveymonkey embedded JS.

Any luck with this? I'm looking to pull Survey Monkey poll data and place into my storyline project.
Nope Bryan. No joy.
