manipulating complex menu structures
Aug 27, 2015
Hi, all-
I am wrestling with creating a large and complex menu structure using the "player" interface. One thing i noticed is that there seems to be little detailed documentation on this subject.
When I open the player, all menu items open in exploded view. With hundreds of screens, this is problematic. I need to collapse all levels before I can reorder the scenes. Any way to open the player with the menus kept as they were last left?
Thanks for your comments.

Steve, I don't believe that moving menu items in the player affects the order of the scenes at all. To reorder scenes, you would use the Story view.
Hi Steve,
Have you looked at the tutorial here on working with the menu? As Anne mentioned, the display of the menu does not necessarily correspond to the story view in terms of collapsed or order. If we're misunderstanding what you need could you share a copy of the .story file here or some screenshots of what you'd like to see?
It's really just this: I collapse the menus,

and when I re-open the Player, they are again expanded...

Thanks Steve for sharing that here - I was able to confirm that same behavior, although when previewing it showed the correct elements collapsed. It has also been reported to our QA team for review, so I'll include this thread in the report filed with them so that I can update you here once additional information is available. I cannot offer a timeframe in regards to when I'll hear back from them, so I appreciate your patience.
I greatly appreciate your efforts! Thank you.
Steve
