Marker buttons text out of alignment

Jan 28, 2020

Hi,

I'm using arrow marker buttons in my Storyline 360 project on each slide to enable users to navigate as I am using many layers and the standard nav buttons don't appear to operate within layers on slides.

It was working really well until I reviewed my entire project and found that a few of the 50 markers I have created are not displaying properly.  The text in the markers, which I have set up as 'back' and 'next' are sitting below the speech bubble.  Please see attached images for more details.

I've tried:

  • re-creating the marker(s)
  • deleting any spaces after my text
  • increased/decreased the size of the text box
  • copying a marker that is functionally properly to the location on the troublesome slides.

Hoping someone can help.

Hi, Kathy. Thanks for reaching out!

You did a lot of excellent troubleshooting, and I'm happy to help look into our next steps regarding this marker behavior.

To start us off, I'm unable to recreate the misalignment in a sample Storyline 360 (Update 36) course (here's a short video of the test).

What Storyline 360 update are you using? Can I also confirm that you're working on a local hard drive (typically the C: drive)?

I'm eager to find the culprit, and look forward to hearing back!

Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me. I was in a hurry to deliver a project so removed all the markers and created a work around. But fyi I am using the latest version of Storyline 360 and yes the files are all stored on my local C drive.

I'm glad that you were able to find a method that would work for you in the meantime, Kathy.

Are you able to recreate the issue in a new file as well? If so, it'd be great if you could send the .story file along for us to take a look.
