Marker Scroll Bar not Activating

Sep 08, 2020

Greetings!

I have copy and pasted information into Marker labels. Typically, a scroll bar will automatically become present to allow for myriad text outside of the designated box size I create. In this instance, it is not happening. The expectation is for a scroller to populate and it is not present.

I have formatting set up for "No Animation" and hovering is de-activated, "Show all on Hover" is also un-checked. However this also does not appear to be the case in audition mode. as when the cursor hovers ALL is shown. Weird..

I can't figure it out. Is it a cache issue? A global setting I somehow missed?

I also attached a screen shot of the label.

Thanks to all -

Ed

Hi Edward,

Thanks for sharing the details of what you're experiencing, and thanks for the added screenshot!

I'm on the latest version of Storyline 360, and I'm unable to replicate the issue you're running into as the scrollbar appears when I paste the text in the marker. I can see this both in the slide as I'm editing and in preview mode.

Can you check the Help tab and click on About Storyline to ensure you're on the latest version? If so, feel free to share your file with us, and we can take a closer look to see what is causing the scrollbar not to appear!

Howdy Ren: Of COURSE you're not able to replicate! Its like going to the mechanic, "I am hearing pinging in the engine!" and of when they test it, drive it, test it again - its not there!

LOL! Thanks very much for at least checking it out.

Short term, I created new markers and the default settings worked as expected with the scroll bar. I do believe that it is a font/copy and paste thing that created an anomaly. Also, I turned the Marker heads into pictures. I sure wish that the Marker sizes could be changed (not just adding thicker marker borders, but actual pixel sizes).

We now have an Enterprise system so I am confident I am on the latest version as I just apdated within the last week.

Many thanks again!
