Marker: Show Nothing On Hover?
Feb 12, 2014
Hi everyone,
Do you know if there is a way to set a marker so there is nothing shown on hover? By default, the title is shown when the marker is hovered. There is an option 'Show All On Hover'. But what I would like is to show nothing. If I don't write any title, there is still a grey rectangle appearing when hovered. I could create my own marker but first, I would like to know if something easier is possible. Any idea?
Thanks!
Elaine

There is no built-in option to completely turn off the popup. A quick fix would be to put a transparent shape over the marker.
Thanks Michael for your fast answer!
If I put a transparent shape over the marker, nothing appears when I hover but I'm not able to click neither. Am I doing something wrong?
It's not very intuitive but if you check the "Audio only" check box nothing happens on a marker hover. See attached.
Sorry Michael and Mark... I think I wasn't so clear... Actually, I want nothing to appear when hover but I also want everything (title and text) to appear when I click. Is it possible?
Hi Elaine,
It's not possible with the built in marker set up - using the transparent shape, you could set it to be hidden once clicked - and that would should the initial setting of the marker (with the title in hover) and you'd either have to click again to see it all or set it to show all on hover. This would now be the behavior anytime the user hovers over it again.
Another thought would be to set this up using a layer. So use the "audio only" element for the marker on the base slide and then set it up to show a layer with the marker once clicked - on that layer, set a new marker that covers the first, and to show all on hover, so that once the layer starts you see the information. You'll want to also add a trigger to hide the layer when the mouse is not hovered over the marker.
