I've added some markers to an image on a slide. I thought that when I clicked on the markers, I would see the text area for the label and description, but it's not showing up for any of the markers. Is there something else I need to do?
This is happening to me. I created the marker, edited the label and when I close it it won't come back again. If I preview, the label is there without anything in it
I'm experiencing a strange issue with Markers. When I click on the text portion (not the title but the description) within the marker content area, the text appears outside of the box.
I have tried different markers, different slides, different locations on a slide, etc. but it is consistently placing the text outside of the area.
I took a screen shot and deliberately placed the marker off of the slide a bit for ease of seeing what I mean. It does this no matter where I put the marker.
I had the same problem where the caption box would not appear regardless of the status of the Audio Only option. Restarting the program fixed the issue. Weird.

Hi Mark
could be that the option 'Audio only' is ticked. Uncheck that box and it should work
Hi Mark,
I'd agree with Wendy's thought here that it may have been set to audio only. You may want to review the tutorial here on how to work with markers.
Wouldn't ya know, it's working today. Go figure. Thanks for the help.
Always the case Mark... :-)
I am having the same problem I select an icon but the label doesn't appear
Hi Sandy!
This thread is a bit dated and it looks like Mark's project started working :) Do you have a .story file you'd like us to take a look at?
No thank you, the same happened to me and it's all working now.
Thank you for your quick response, I am experiencing excellent support from
you , very impressed.
Cheers
Sandy

Hi Doug!
Do you have 'Audio Only' marked as the users here indicated was their issue?
No I checked that. I am importing an existing power point. Does that make a difference?
Would you be able to share your .story file for us to take a look?
In case this happens to anyone else - close Storyline and reopen - worked for me.
Thanks for sharing your fix here, Jenny! ☺️
Worked for me too, thanks Jenny!
Thanks for chiming in and letting us know that this worked for you as well Kassy. It's the simplest things sometimes 😁

Any ideas?
Hi Edie
do you have your Windows DPI set to 96 or for Windows 10 (100%) - see this SL2 article but I'm sure is relates to SL3 as well.
If still not working or your DPI is set correctly you may need to try a repair of SL3 or see this article about erratic behaviour
I'm actually a user of SL2. That having been said, I did check and I'm set on the right setting. :-(
Thank you for responding though.
Hi Edie,
Could you share a copy of your .story file? I'd like to take a look at it and see if it'll display the same thing on our end.

I had to make some very slight modifications due to the nature of the content. I stripped out all other slides and blurred the original image.
As a side note, this was originally a PPT file that was imported for use of the layouts
Hi Edie - I just responded to your similar post here.
