I built a course that has 4 modules that can be completed in any order. I have the 4th module linked to the slide that states the course is complete. If user follows the order then the course works fine. However, how do I program the course to where they can complete the module in any order but not mark the overall course complete until all the modules have been completed?
you could add a T/F variable to the last slide of each module that is triggered to true when timeline starts or media completes (depends what elements you have), then put a condition on the last slide that only executes if all 4 variables are = true.
Thanks Wendy! I was able to complete the first part but I don't know the steps to take to condition on the last slide to only execute if all 4 variables = true. Can you help with the steps or refer to training resource?
can you upload the story file - I'm recommending steps based on how I interpret your setup...easier to offer a solution to your specific request if I can see your file.
Thanks for assisting Crystalle here, Wendy! And Crystalle, please let us know if Wendy's suggestion will work for you -- or, if you had something else in mind, please use the grey ADD ATTACHMENT button in the bottom left corner of the reply box and you will be able to upload from there. :)
I am unable to open the same from Crystalle above as error I get when trying to open is attached. I have the same issue. I have also attached my project. Please help! Thank you
Actually, I want it to show complete no matter how many slides they view. I want them to be able to go into the course, get what they need and X out and the course to complete for them in our LMS.

HI Sharon
which version of Storyline are you using? and like Crystalle can your users do in any order or a set order?
Hi Wendy -
Thank you for responding - I am using Storyline 1.
Users can complete in any order. Really, the course is to share information and once they obtain what they need they can submit to complete it.
Hi Sharon!
Do you want to require learners to view all 19 slides to receive a "Complete" status?
If so, try using the setting "Track using number of slides viewed" in the Reporting and Tracking window.
Let me know if that's what you had in mind!
Hi Alyssa,
Actually, I want it to show complete no matter how many slides they view. I want them to be able to go into the course, get what they need and X out and the course to complete for them in our LMS.
Do you know how I can achieve this?
Thanks! Sharon :-)
Ahh, I see! In that case, could you set the course to complete when the learner views 1 out of 19 slides?
With that setting, the course will be set to complete as soon as it is opened. Would that work for you?
It worked! Thank you so much for your help!
You're welcome, Sharon!
