Marking course as complete when there is no assessment

Mar 28, 2017

Hi There,

I'm really hoping someone can help me. I have developed a simple, FYI-type module which ahs no assessment at the end of it. A learner just has to click through to compelte the course. However, two things happen at the end of the course:

  1. the course does not complete when the user clicks the complete button; that is, the course window does not close.
  2. LMS (iLearn) does not mark course as complete at this point.

I have tried the solution described in https://articulate.com/support/article/how-to-submit-course-completion-to-an-lms-on-a-specific-slide-sl2, but with no luck.  Of the two items above, the more urgent is closing the course when the user clicks the "Complete" button. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Ian

have you tried uploading and testing in Scormcloud (Industry standard LMS) - that will tell you if it's something in the SL file or your LMS settings need tweaking.

Also have you checked with your LMS vendor the publish settings required - don't read anything into the highlight on the image - that's just the first option.

Hi Wendy,

Thank you for your response. Unforutnately, the organisation for which I work has its own proprietary LMS called iLearn. I am hesitant to download other software to our machines. The stragne thing is that the solution I mentioned in my initial post worked perfectly for antoher module which I created. However, even though I replicated the steps exactly, the results this time are not the same. I've also checked that we use "Completed/Incomlete" status.
