Master Side Duplication

May 24, 2017

If I chose to import all the pre-made slides from a particular theme from the content library (lets just say "Vibrance" there are 35 sides). Why does Storyline import 35 versions of the same master slide template?  This makes the program chug hardcore anytime a change is made.

Does anyone have a easy fix for this?... Other than manually changing each slides layout to the same master template family.

Hey, Chris!

Thanks for letting us know what's going on. We're working through an issue where Content Library templates appear as individual Slide Masters with layouts when inserted into a Storyline 360 file, and that seems to match what's going on in your file.

I'm sorry this has been causing you headaches, but rest assured this is definitely a priority issue for us. As soon as we have more information on a fix, I'll be sure to post an update here in this thread. You'll be notified immediately since you're subscribed.

Hello Chris! Hallo Alyssa!

We are running into the same issue. After importing a 130 slides project there are 130 slidemasters more in the project. :/ We are not able to work on this projects anymore because of the horrible count of masterslides storyline crashs.

@ Alyssa: I am not sure if I understand you correctly. Chris does not wrote that he uses the contentlibrary. In my imported projects there is also nothing from the contentlinbrary.

Regards!

Evelyn

I'm sorry you're running into this, Evelyn! We're now seeing that this is happening even if Content Library slides are not used, which is what you're describing.

I'll update the report with your experience and notify you as soon as I get an update. I really appreciate you letting us know what's happening, and I apologize that this is giving you headaches!

Until the bug is fixed (I was told next release) I reassign the layout for each slide and delete all extra slidemaster :-( .  When that takes too much of my time, and it often does I just don't import projets.  Luckily some of my projects don't need to be publish this month.  I'm anxiously awaiting for a fix.

Hi all,

Great news!   We just released another update for Articulate 360, and included a few important fixes that you'll see in the release notes here.

The item you'll be interested in is how each slide that was imported from Content Library would have its own separate slide master in Storyline. Now all slides from the same Content Library template belong to a single slide master in Storyline.

Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for Storyline 360. Details here.

Please let us know if you have any questions, either here or by reaching out to our Support Engineers directly.

Hi all,

Great news!  We just released another update for Articulate 360, and included a few important fixes and new features that you'll see in the release notes here.

The item(s) you may be interested in are the fixes for:

  • Sometimes, variables would be missing when importing one Storyline project into another.
  • Each slide that was imported from another Storyline project had its own separate slide master. Now all slides from the same imported project belong to a single slide master.

Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for each application. Details here.
