Let's say we have 3 slides in our story... If I insert a video, for example into the "Master Slide", then in the published folder I have 3 copies of that single video file??? What??? Why???
Is there any way to have access to a single video file all across my course without copying it multiple times? I know Storyline doesn't have a library feature unlike Adobe Captivate to do so, but any idea is greatly appreciated.
So sorry for the trouble, Sara! We are seeing a problem in Storyline where a video will be included multiple times in the published output if it is used once in the Slide Master, and it sounds like you're running into that bug.
Can you confirm what version of Storyline you're using? I want to make sure we update our bug report with the version you have installed. Thanks!
How about tagging your video into HTML file and embed the HTML into Storyline as Web Object. That way you can embed the video to any Slides but using Web Object.
So I will upload my video into my server, then I'll tag my video into Storyline published HTML5 file, then I'll put my video address ( Address of the video in the Server ) into Storyline Web Object?
The only question is how to tag my video into Storyline published HTML5?
You can upload your video + HTML into your server or you can have it into your working directory on your local PC. Once you published, the files will be added into Storyline published files.
You can search online on "How to embed video into HTML / HTML5". Then in Storyline, Point that HTML file when you insert Web Object either from your local pc or web server.
Hey Sara! We will certainly bring up that feature to our Product team again, as I know the "jump to cue point on timeline" is a popular request. Thanks for adding your voice--we hear you and appreciate your input!

The only way to avoid that would be to host the video on some server and embed it on the masterslide.
That way I don't need a master slide at all, do I?
And the video should be load each time,,,,

Wow... Finally, we have an Articulate STAFF here!!! :)... That's a first (for me!)...
by the way, I'm using "Storyline v3.5.16548.0"
OK, so now we have you here, I would like to ask you a favour...
Please tell Storyline Developers it's been over "6 years" users ask for a feature they have an emergent need to ... That feature is "Jumping to a specific cue point in the timeline." link: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/jump-to-position-in-timeline
You can google for it... just search this "Jumping to a specific point in the timeline storyline" and read comments it's a serious deficiency...
Please don't ask me to send a feature request because there are lots of users have done that before. But Still...
Thank You.

Great Idea, That's the Answer to my question...
Thank You Daniel ...

Hi Everyone,
I am happy to share that the duplicated media issue has been resolved!
We just released the newest version of Storyline 360 (Build 3.35.20995.0) this morning, which included this fix.
The next step is to update Storyline 360 by heading to your Articulate 360 desktop app and clicking "Update" next to Storyline 360.
As always, we are happy to answer any questions you have by posting in this discussion or reach out to our Support Engineers directly.
