Thanks Emily that was itĀ for the Quiz and Result slides. I unchecked 'Hide other slide layers' in the settings of the feedback layers.
There was another slide with 3 layers that had the same issue. For thisĀ slide I recreated piece by piece to identify what was causing the issue. In the end I re-jigged it ie moved the contents of a layer back onto the main timeline as unchecking 'Hide other slide layers' didn't work for that.
What do you mean by "instead of stopping" ? If you've set the layer to be hidden after a period of time, it'll disappear not just stop playing what is there. Did you look into the items Emily and Kevin shared above? If so, can you share a copy of your .story file here with us to take a look at?

Hello Kevin,
You may want to check the feedback layer properties to see if they are checked to "hide other slide layers".

Thanks Again!
No problem Kevin,
Glad you got this to work for you.
