I have a project that is 960 x 1500 but it appears that I am unable to use the Master Slide option. Are Master Slides not an option for a project that is larger?
I don't know why you wouldn't be able to use the slide master - it should work as expected regardless of the size of your story size.
What isn't working about using the master slides? Are you unable to open them or are they not being applied? Can you confirm that you're working on local project files as described here. Is this happening for all your projects? If so, have you looked into conducting the repair of Storyline?

I confess. I was working on a USB drive. I started a new project on the local drive and it works great.
