I assume someone wants you to change the slide layout after you built the course. Yes, you can add masterslides to a course after building it. Just double check that the slides are correct before you publish.
Thanks. Actually, the course is not on that I have buiilt, but someone else has built. Can you advise how I would do this retrospectively please? Will the slide therefore lose any of its formatting if you replace an existing slide with a new master slide?? i.e. layers, triggers etc..??
Depending on how different the new layout is from the old, you will probably need to reformat some text, etc. You'll really need to examine each slide to catch them all.
I'd agree with Linda - it'll really depend on the new master. Especially the triggers if they were on the master slide will not carry over - but any content or items you've added to the slide itself should remain.
Best of luck with the transition and certainly let us know if you run into any odd behavior.
