Matching drop-down - answer options not resetting

Hello, I've created a matching drop-down question with 2 attempts. On first incorrect attempt, there's a Try again button, which takes them back to the base question layer. However, though the slide is set to 'Reset to initial state', the answer options are not 'resetting'. i.e. they show the previously selected options as is and do not change to 'Select' mode.

  1. Is there a way to fix this?
  2. Also, is there a way to alter the behavior of the alert 'Invalid answer: You have not completed the question.'? Because right now, even if I have got 3 out of 4 correct, I still have to select all the 4 options again to make it assume I have answered them all.

TIA.

Hi Prathiba,

It sounds like Ankit is suggesting that you create two identical drag and drop slides. On the first slide, trigger the "Try Again" button to jump to the second slide. That way, the answer choices will be reset when they land on the second slide.

The "Invalid Answer" layer will appear unless the learner drags all four objects to a drop target. Can you tell me more about why you want learners to click Submit when only three objects have been dragged?

Hi Alyssa - sorry for the late response - got tied up with other stuff.

Regarding your question, Can you tell me more about why you want learners to click Submit when only three objects have been dragged?

This is during the 2nd try. All 4 options have already been selected during the 1st try. during the 2nd try, there is just 2 options I need to change. But why do I have to select the other 2 (correct) options too and leave them in the same spot.  Unless you do all the 4 again, it wouldn't allow Submit.
