I am trying to add a matching exercise to my course, with 5-6 options/answers. SOmetimes when it is published they are randomized, and sometimes they are showing the correct answer. I find this very frustrating, as does my client. The correct answers shouldn't be shown at all, and yet, they are. Also the only way that I was able to reset the page was to have it automatically refresh when they click retry because they didn't like how the options were still connected when you hit try again. Is there another option for that?
What type of matching set up are you using? A matching drag and drop or a drop down? There is a known issue that has been reported to our QA team where a matching drag/drop on a retry is not shuffled and therefore shows the answers in the correct order. It sounds like you're using the work around of resetting the whole slide from the try again layer with a "jump to slide trigger." If you need to restrict the user to a set number of attempts (as it will currently reset the whole slide and attempts) you could also track a variable from the try again layer and based on the user hitting a set number of attempts - they'd be brought to the "incorrect" layer after they've reached the maximum number of attempts.

From publish to publish its never the same - I have two of these pages in my course, and both at one point or another are showing the correct answer before the learner even does the question.
Could you share your file (or even one of those slides) with us here? I'd like to take a look and see if I can recreate the behavior on my end in your file. Also, please let me know more about how you're publishing your course and where you're testing it so that I can conduct the same behavior on my end.
Has the issue of the randomization ever been corrected? In my course, it randomizes the first time you try it. The user only gets one chance. Then, if they retake the whole test, that screen loads with all items in the correct position, so the user just slides them to the left to get it right.
I tried setting the page to "Reset to initial state" and "Resume saved state" with the same results.
What type of question are you using? In some cases, you may find that answer choices on individual question slides don't reshuffle when you retry a quiz.
If this is what you're experiencing in Storyline 2, this is a known issue. It'll be fixed in the next software update for Articulate Storyline. Enable the Check for updates at startup feature to be notified when the new update is available.
If you're experiencing something different could you share a bit more information.

This issue is still occurring, and I have the latest update of SL. Am I missing something?

We had one issue corrected:
In some cases, you may find that answer choices on individual question slides don't reshuffle when you retry a quiz. This issue was fixed in Update 5 for Articulate Storyline. See this article for more information.
We have another issue related to matching drag and drop though and the correct answers showing on re-try instead of shuffling.
