Memory drag and drop

Mar 02, 2016

I am attempting to build an interaction where the learner attempts to drag parts of an image where it belongs. Specifically they have a blank check and need to drag the different parts of a check where it belongs. Once the user clicks submit I want the different parts to move to the correct locations if they need to. Can story line do this?

Hi, Darby -- Thanks for your question! Would it be possible for you to share a file if you have one started already? And if I am understanding what you'd like to do, it looks like a similar question may have been asked over here, so you might want to consider some of the ideas suggested.

We also have a design-related forum in you'd like to post your question over there, as well. :)

Below is the image I want the learner to build. They will start off with an empty box, and each part of the check is listed below the box. Then each part of the check (ex: the text box that has the check number 1015) is an item that they can drag to where it belongs. Once they are don't placing everything where they think it goes and click submit I can create a trigger to move everything to the correct position if needed.

Hi, Darby -- Thanks for your reply but unfortunately, when you reply via email, any attachment you intended to send are not visible here in the post. Please click here to be taken to the post itself, and then use the grey "ADD ATTACHMENT" button in the bottom left of the reply box.

And I'd also recommend that you upload your .story or source file rather than an image so that your fellow community members can check out how things are currently set and make suggestions from there.

Also, when you reply via email, and confidentiality messages or details in your signature are visible here in the thread also. Please feel free to use the EDIT button beneath your post to remove that info if you'd like. :)

Hi Christie,

Sorry the original file was too big, I had rebuild it in a presentation of its own. I want the learner to have the ability of dragging the different text boxes and shapes to build their own check. Once they hit submit any objects that are not in the correct location need to move to the right location. If possible, any objects that were placed in the right location by the learner should change colors to show they were right and also earn points for correct location placement. Let me know if this is possible.

Mainly what I don't know how to do is make a slide where a learner can complete a drag and drop action without using an interaction template. The second part is how register the correct placement of an object by the user.

Thanks, Darby
