Menu Navigation

Hi All,

Just a quick question.

My colleague is working on a module where the client has requested the slide titles to be removed from the menu side bar but the scene titles to remain. They also want the user to be able to click on any of these scene titles to navigate. So far we haven't managed to navigate using just the scene titles.

We've checked the player settings and all seems well, so we're a little stuck.

Any/all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Perhaps a workaround would be to rename the first slide of each scene with the scene title, and then just include those slides on the menu.  If you rename in the menu, it doesn't rename the actual slide, just the listing in the menu.  Then your menu will list the scene names, and each will link to the first slide in that scene.

Hi Harri,

you can pretty much do whatever you want with the menu.

Click on the player icon (publish)

There you'll see "Menu" (Data)

Click on the item you want to delete and click on the red cross, don't worry, the slides will not be deleted, they're just removed from the menu.

Once you've cleaned the menu, by using the little yellow folder you can import menu items from you presentation

Once they are imported you can rename them to whatever you want..

If all you have on the menu are scene titles, clicking doesn't take you anywhere. If you delete all the slide titles and leave the scene titles, there is no navigation.   You need to click on a slide title to get to a slide.  But  you can rename those slides anything that you client wants, and include only those that are wanted.

Hi Leo,

Happy to help here!

To change the font and font size for the player menu, you will want to navigate to:

  1. The Home tab on the Storyline ribbon and click Player.
  2. Click Colors & Effects on the ribbon.

This guide provides more details on changing player menu fonts here:
