Menu shows Previous and Next buttons

Mar 05, 2013

Hi,

I have created a story that contains 4 lessons. I have modified the slide properties so that the Next button is only visible on the very last slide of each lesson. The next button allows the user to return to my overview slide and navigate to another lesson from there. The previous button is never available. This all works fine if the course is watched "in a standard way".

However, if a user uses the menu that I have made available on my player and returns to a lesson in this way, for some slides the Previous and Next buttons appear on the player. I have no triggers on my slides for these buttons as I didn't want these buttons to be available there in the first place.

How can I ensure that these buttons are not displayed when a user uses the menu to navigate? Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Kerstin

Hi Kersin,

First, love the look of the course, from what I can see.. nice job!

Any chance you can share your project's .STORY file here, so I can take a quick look at what's happening? I'm thinking it may be an issue with either revisiting states or the file.

If you'd like to keep the file private, you're also welcome to send it over to our support team. You'll be able to attach the .STORY file on the second page of the following form:

Please be sure to include a description of your issue. Please also include the URL for this thread in the form. Also, please share the case number with me. You're welcome to do so here, or in a private message. This way I can follow the progress of the case and update this thread.

Thanks!

Hi Marielle!

This is a dated thread and the issue was originally for Storyline 1. Here is the update on that:

If you've disabled (hidden) the Prev and Next buttons on your Articulate Storyline player, you may find that they unexpectedly display when using the menu to navigate between slides. This issue was corrected in Update 3 for Storyline. Please review this article for more information.

Does this information assist you? Are you using a dated version of Storyline 1?

If not, would you be able to share your .story file so that we could take a look?
