Menu slide animation - Not working

Oct 25, 2016

I really like the smooth look of this menu download! I tried to apply the same logic to an instructions slide layer, but I was unable to make it work.

Then I tried to just import the slide, and add my own graphics, etc. But, I'm still unable to make it work properly. I had to group the rounded corner shape with my own text boxes to make it work with my lesson.  I format-painted the motion path animation onto the new group. Right now the entry animation works, but it won't slide up off the screen (2nd motion path).

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I did some tests and it looks like clicking on a group is the problem. I have added a new rectangle to click on and then it worked.

I would suggest doing the following 2 options

Option 1

  • add the "instruction" text directly in the rectangle as you would any other text
  • make the menu text appear after the animation completes (change state when animation motion path 5 completes)

Option 2

  • add the "instruction" text directly in the rectangle as you would any other text
  • add the menu text also directly in the rectangle
    • on the menu layer add hotspots over the menu items, so to user it feels like clicking those items

There is probably an option 3, but it is getting late.

Good luck! :)
