MenuCheckMark & Layer Not displaying

Jul 17, 2017

Any assistants with both issues is greatly appreciated.

I am stumped on trying to get a check mark displayed after a scene has been completed. In addition, a layer will not show unless it is clicked twice. more info below.

Lesson 1-Slide 2
Regardless on order of clicking the boxes when the last box is clicked, it does not display the popup box. - Until the box is clicked on twice.  Instead, it displays the congrats layer.

Menu (on master slide)
I've changed the triggers on different slides then but could not get this to work. Now a Check mark displays on Scene2 Slide 1 and not on the menu.

Please excuse the generic file, I had to remove a lot of the information and slide graphics due to proprietary information.

.Story attached

Thank you!

Hi Jeannie

You are most of the way there! For Lesson 1 Slide 2, you have already made your variables for each box, and also made a trigger. There's a few different ways to do this, here's my thought processs ...

First, duplicate the Congrats layer and delete the original one - just for piece of mind that it is a new layer, and call it something else. I went with 'New Congrats'.

On the base layer, the trigger you have for showing Next is the same as what you need on each layer ... but ... instead of "Show next if Box 1, Box 2, Box 3, etc. is equal to 1 when timeline ends", make the trigger "Show layer 'New Congrats' if Box 1, Box 2, Box 3 etc. is equal to 1 when user clicks Close". This way they will go to the layer, read the relevant box, and when they click Close, if they have viewed all layers then they will see the New Congrats layer.

Triggers

My system has frozen ... ahhhh ... and I lost the download, so will leave the Menu for someone else to investigate. Let me know how you go with this, hope it makes sense!

Hi Jeannine,

So there are a few things needing to be fixed up in this file for your menu:

1. The variable your referencing on the master slide does not match the variables on your slides about the Lesson being done to activate the checkmark

2. The slide layers are set to hide all other slide layers, so you could only show one layer at a time.

I updated most of the file, the last piece is that the menu has a button to hide or close the menu layer, but not to hide or close the other layers. Instead of building individual layers for each checkmark you could look at changing the state of the checkmark on that menu layer based on your variable - but hopefully this gets you started!
