Merging Step-by-Step Video to Allow Seeking
Aug 16, 2016
I recorded a screencast in order to demonstrate how to perform a task. I inserted it into my story as step-by-step view mode slides and recorded the audio narration to go with each one. It plays nicely as though it were one video and is slow enough to give time for the narration. The issue is with being able to pause or go back through it. Because it is actually multiple slides, I cannot use a seek bar. I would have to add one to each slide and it then no longer looks like one video. Is there a way to merge all of the slides together into one video and add a seekbar? Is there another way to allow pausing and seeking in a demonstration of this kind?

Hi Veronica!
You can insert the same screencast into your course multiple times. Check out this tutorial for assistance.
Thank you for your prompt response. I have already tried inserting the video again as one slide. The issue is that it plays too quickly as one slide and I cannot match the audio to it. I really need to merge the individual slides so that they play slowly as they do when the mouse is being clicked on them.
Ah, you need like a mixture of both ideally :) Hopefully someone will be able to pop in and assist with your design in the interim.
I do know that some users have requested the ability to utilize their 'edited' screencasts over again as well and perhaps you could share your thoughts in a feature request as well.
Hi Veronica,
Did you ever manage to get a solution to this issue? I am currently facing the same exact challenge.
