I know that the specs state that 2 gb is the minimum for SL2 but i'm wondering what everyone has found to be the most efficient? I'm considering a new laptop and most are around 4 gb but I will go as high as 8-12 gb if necessary. TIA
I think most people would say the more memory the better - that way Storyline and other programs will run faster and you'll have more capacity for larger projects.
I'd say go with the most you're comfortable purchasing and more than you need - just in case. :)
I agree with Ashley, go with the absolute maximum that you can afford. SL is quite resource intensive and having a decent machine will help tremendously.
Another HUGE timesaver when working with SL is a nice big external monitor. It will make life so much easier for you. You don't need anything fancy, just a cheapie 20inch screen or similar. There is alot going on on the screen and it sometimes gets a bit challenging working on a small laptop monitor.
Thank you so much for your input! I still have shivers remembering how the original Studio used to churn when publishing, lol. I know, those were the old days though. And yes, Jacques, thanks for the monitor tip, it definitely helps having two and I'd love to be able to have THREE, if possible!
