Hi - Loving the new modern player! It works great and will go a long way in helping users focus on the content rather than the player.
Testing on iPhone and Android phones, in landscape mode, we're seeing a strange, nearly transparent panel partially covering the top of the screen. It only appears in landscape mode. Anyone know what it it or how to get rid of it?
Mike, I'm not seeing the same thing in any of my courses using the modern player. However, I tend to turn off most of the player features, so . I wonder if it is the title element that is turned on but has no title? I created a quick test with that theory and couldn't duplicate it, however: https://360.articulate.com/review/content/1b1d2a07-79e5-49d8-9f4a-6ef3146d9dd6/review. If you upload your course, we can probably better troubleshoot it.
Dave - thanks muchly for your quick response. I am using the title element and I think that's the culprit. It appears that the title doesn't display on mobile (phones anyway) but retains the panel. Interesting, the panel displays on your sample project too! I'll try to publish without the title element and see if it makes a difference.
Just to follow up ... I tested by publishing without a title element. Still no joy. A nearly transparent panel still displays at the top of the screen while the phone is in landscape. I'm testing on an Android (Pixel 2 XL) and see the same on iPhone.
Hi there, Mike. Thanks for continuing to work through this. Here's what we saw on an iPhone running iOS 11.4:
And on a Google Pixel 2, Android 8:
I know it can be tough when we have trouble reproducing the issue you're seeing. Are the courses behaving the same way on a different internet network as well (i.e. from home vs from work)? I'm not sure what could be causing the difference environmentally for you!
Hi Crystal, thanks for your reply and screenshots. To answer your question - yes we're seeing the same behavior despite publishing to different locations (360 review & AWS). I noticed that the placement of the "dots" and other elements are slightly different in your screenshots compared to mine. I'm thinking some of my issues may have been corrected with the most recent update. I'll update and try to publish again and let you know the results. Thanks again for the help.
Thanks, Mike and please do keep us posted! The latest update of Storyline 360 is Build 3.17.16188.0 so you can look for that in the About Articulate Storyline pop up on your Help tab to confirm you're using the latest.
Having tested on various types of phones - the issue seems to be specific to the Google Pixel 2 XL, which continues to show a panel near the top of the window. Interestingly, it doesn't appear on the smaller size Pixel 2. Perfect on other phones as well like the larger iPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy 8, etc.
When compared to the iPhone, note the smaller sized image, and how the controls are in a different location lining up at the bottom instead of the right end. both phones are 5.5 inches I think. BTW - this is the current version of SL Build 3.17.16188.0
Hey folks. I'm excited to let you know that we just released update 23 for Storyline 360! It includes new features and fixes - check them all out here.
We fixed some modern player issues, including bars that cut off the tops of slides on Android devices.
Here’s how you can update Storyline 360 to take advantage of everything the latest release has to offer. Let me know how you make out!

Anyone else seeing this or have ideas?

Thanks, Mike. Those images are really helpful, so I'll be sure to get them into the hands of our team as they're looking into this.
