Moodle launch page question

Jul 22, 2021

I know there are some Moodle users on here so I thought I'd reach out to see if anyone can answer a question for me.

When clicking to launch the SCORM package it always takes the user to a second launch page which looks like this. The Moodle help desk is saying that to get rid of this step, it is the course building software, in this case, Storyline, needs to be set to stop this happening.

I can see anything in the player settings that does this. Does anyone have an idea how I can get rid of this screen? Moodle Launch page.

In the scorm setting you can hide this page (or at least used to be able to).the setting is something like student skips content structure page. However they will then never be able to start a new attempt. The other option is to edit the text labels in Moodle and give some instructions to the suer.

Hi Howard

I'm not sure I understand the problem. However I suggest you to enter the course and to check the settings applied by Moodle to your scorm (enter the course, turn editing on, click the edit link next to your scorm) . There is a set of settings under the link "appearance" where you have the option to launch the course in an external window.

Hi Andrea. The issue is i want the course to launch immediately when the user clicks the scorm package. Currently, they click the scorm package and are taken to this unnecessary extra launch page to click launch.

I've checked the scorm settings and there doesn't appear to be anything in there to remove this.

Hi, Howard.

Depending on the version of Moodle you are using, the steps might be a little different, but here are the instructions to get to the setting Phil mentioned (Skip content structure page) for version 3.10.

It sounds like the setting only applies to Student roles, so if you're testing it, you might need to switch to that role.

I hope this helps!
