Maybe the animation doesn't look as "smooth" as you expect, because you currently have the In/Out Easing option enabled. You can select Animations>Path Options>Direction and select None. With that setting, the animation will play at a constant speed.

I realized that this issue exists because I use Storyline via my organization's VPN, which is slow. So, I tried viewing the published output of the same file on my local. The animation looks perfectly smooth there.
