Motion Path Issue

Hi there- 

I am working on a Storyline slide that has an object using a motion path. There is one object on each layer that uses its own individual path, no objects from the base layer are visible. 

The motion path animates, however, at the end of the motion path, the object still shows at its originating place. 

I've tried solving this issue several ways: only keeping the object on the timeline for a small period of time and changing the state of the object to  "hidden" once the animation ends. I could always add a rectangle to cover the object, but why would I have to do that?

Is there something I am doing wrong that would make the animation stay in its original location?
