I would like to have an object move up in a smooth motion when the mouse is hovered over it, then return to the original position when the mouse looses focus.
I'm able to accomplish this with a hover state, but it's not a smooth "up and down" motion. Any ideas?
The animation of states within Storyline has been a question before - and I had to Google my own answer to see what I did before. Here is one idea to get you started.
Unfortunately none of the existing animations work for the effect I'm going for. I'd like the marker to move on a motion path, but the motion paths are the only thing that wasn't available for the 'new item' in the state.
Thank you for the link though!! I didn't know you had to add the item as a "new" item in the additional states for animations to work. That's good to know!
1. make a duplicate of your object 2. apply a float in animation .25s on it 3. edit the state of your original , adding a hover state and making the image therein 100% transparent. 4. paste a copy of the duplicate and place it to the height you want it to hover

Thanks Ashley.

Certainly understand Erin, and sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Hey Erin, Don't give up just yet. This is one I built for you. Hope it works, or gives you ideas on how to build other things. enjoy!
instructions for anyone who can't download:
1. make a duplicate of your object
2. apply a float in animation .25s on it
3. edit the state of your original ,
adding a hover state and making
the image therein 100% transparent.
4. paste a copy of the duplicate and
place it to the height you want it to hover
