I have added a couple of buttons on the last slide of the course - one to restart the course from slide 1 and the other to exit the course. The exit button works fine but when I click the restart course button, it displays the second slide in module 1 though I have set the trigger to go to the first slide. Would this be an issue with the timeline? Appreciate any help.
Hi, Sampath: You might check how your scenes are numbered. I could be wrong about this, but sometimes I'll have a scene numbered three, but I set it as the starting scene.
What about just having a trigger that sends the learner back to that first slide? You might give that a try.
And now I'm curious--does the "restart course" action reset a learner's score or anything? Or is it just a way to send the learner back to the starting scene.
Anyway, Sampath. Let me know how things work out.--Daniel
Hi Daniel. Thanks for the reply. It is just a way to send the learner back to the first slide. I added a button to exit the course and so tried another button to take them back to the start. Adding a trigger instead of the button works!
I have managed to fix the problem with the button as well. The first slide had two triggers - one to move to the next slide on click of the next button and another trigger to move to the next slide when the timeline ends. I deleted the timeline trigger and the first slide now displays correctly
When both triggers are in place, if I click the next button before the timeline ends, then the button takes me back to the first slide. If I wait for the timeline to end and transition to the second slide, then clicking the button takes me to the second slide. This a bug?
I tried the set up you mentioned below, just with a simple two slide story - with three triggers to get to the next slide (on next click, on a custom button click, and on timeline end) and I wasn't able to replicate the behavior you described. If you're able to share your .story file here we're happy to test it, or if you'd prefer to share it privately you can send it along here.

Thanks Ashley. I will send you the story file through the link. Apologies for the delayed reply. I usually get an email when there is a reply to the post but didn't this time or deleted it my mistake (likely)!
Not to worry Sampath, whenever you get a chance to send it we'll check it out. And, to be sure that you're subscribed to the thread, you'll want to scroll up to the very top after you reply and click "Subscribe to replies" - you have to subscribe each time you reply, so you may not have deleted it.
Jayem at support has found the problem - reset state of the slide. The slide was not set to resume from its initial state and once this is done it works fine. Perfect.
