Moving Glossary Terms

Jan 25, 2014

When I worked on my project last week, there were up and down arrow buttons to move the glossary terms up or down in the list. These buttons have now disappeared. How do I get them back? I tried closing Storyline and reopening, but that didn't work. Anyone have any ideas where my arrow buttons went?

Thanks Phil - I think I was having a blonde moment.

I have 2 other questions.

  1. How do I maintain shadow on text when creating a Master Slide. When I apply shadow to the text (not the shape), on the Master Slide it does not appear when I use the Master Slide in my Quiz.
  2. I am having a problem trying to show the entire quiz results when using the Print Results functionality. I have looked at the tutorial and read any forum I can find, but can't seem to find the solution.

I have set it up like this:

Last week all I could get to display was the Results page. Now I can't get anything to display when I use this functionality. This is the last thing I need to fix in this quiz before submitting to the client. Can you please help me? Is it not showing because I am not using an LMS to view the results?

Thanks,

Pam

Hi there Pam!

"I think I was having a blonde moment."

Welcome to every moment of my day ;)

For the first issue, make sure that you're selecting the "box" for the content in the Slide Master, not the actual text itself.

If you apply the shadow after highlighting the text, it won't carry through.

If, however, you select that line around the text and apply the Text Shadow it should carry through.

For the second issue, yes - definitely make sure you're uploading to a web server or LMS.

If you're viewing your published files locally, this may be the problem. If you view a published Storyline presentation on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.

To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the article below for more information:

Publishing and Sharing Articulate Storyline Content

If you do not have access to a web server or LMS for testing, you could try using SCORM Cloud.

Another option would be to use our Tempshare server. Just keep in mind that this server is only available for testing content - it is not officially supported by Articulate and all content will be removed automatically after 10 days.

In addition, you could also use Dropbox. Just remember that you'll need to place your content in the "Public" folder. Also, you'll need to make sure that the folder is enabled. To do so, click on this link.

You're always welcome to try out Articulate Online, as well - it's available for a free 30 day trial.

Let us know how it goes :)
