Are you aware that you can create the animation in PowerPoint, using the motion paths there, and then save as a video and insert into Storyline?
Otherwise, you can do a bit of animating by masking areas of the slide with shapes. In this VERY basic example I have a character flying into a frame in the center of the slide from the bottom of the slide. But she appears to simply be flying in from the bottom of the frame. I placed a rectangle that is the same color as the background, and with no lines, in a position so that you can't see her coming up from the bottom.
My explanation isn't very clear...but hopefully the slide will be! This of course isn't a motion path, but you could probably create a one with proper planning.

Shout out with any questions, OK?
Nice example Becky - thanks for sharing!
Diane, let us know if you need anything else!
Are there any solutions that don't involve masking? I'd love an arrow to be able to move from point to point on the timeline.
Hi Sam, you could use states to move items along a timeline.
For those looking for a solution here, SL3 now has Motion Paths.
Hey Ryan - thanks for popping in to share here. I'm assuming you mean SL2? Here is the documentation.
Hi Diane,
I have created a sample animation in Storyline using a Motion Path method.
Hope this helps.
