Moving Recorded Screens Down (after changing screen size)

Nov 05, 2021

Hello!

I used to record my screen simulations like this:

  • Record at a dimension smaller than required
  • Resize entire story to actual dimension after the recording was finished
  • Tell Storyline not to "resize," but instead, shift elements down

This way, I had a blank white spot at the top of each screen, where I would put my header.

I don't know when this changed, but I can't shift the captured screens downward anymore. It instead puts a gap on the top and bottom of the slide. Or if I scale to fit, it puts the gap at the bottom instead of the top.

How do I move the background downward now?

Thanks for the help!

Edit: Just to clarify, I did what this user did in their post: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/record-screen-possible-to-move-anchor-point

Hello Lauren!

Our Support Engineers are available 24/7 in a support case, so don't hesitate to reach out to their team when you need a quick response.

You can move the screen recording if you've inserted it as a single video on a slide. If you've added it as a Step-By-Step interaction, it will fit on the slide and won't be adjustable.

If you can share your .story file in this disucssion, that would be helpful to see what you've built so far.
