I have a story file that contains a couple of MP3 sound file. The sound plays in preview mode, and will play if I save as CD, but it doesn't play in HTML5. Can anyone help with this?
Check the Player settings as the sometimes the Volume Icon can be set on Mute in the Player. This happened to me, and I just unticked the volume icon in the player so as not to confuse my users with too many sound options.
Thanks for the response. I checked the player settings and the volume icon does not show as being on mute. I didn't find anywhere in the player settings that gave the option of mute or not mute.
When I publish to CD, the sound does work, but I need to publish to LMS. The full story has narration that was recorded in Storyline and the narration plays, its just these MP3 files that don't play. I even tried recording the MP3 sounds with a mic into Storyline and they still don't play. My browser choices are Chrome and IE.
On an unrelated note, where do you find the link to upload to review?
When you view a Storyline 360 course on your local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that can cause various features of the course to fail.
Thank you to everyone who responded to my post. I found that by inserting a slide, ahead of the original slide, that you have to click NEXT on, then the rest of the project plays correctly. But if the first slide has a trigger to automatically advance to the next slide, the project doesn't play correctly. Since Phil was able to play it without any issue, I sent it to a coworker who also reported that it played correctly for them. This makes me think there must be some issue with my local computer.

The CD version is still the HTML5 version I just published for web and ran in safari and it works fine. Have you tried uploading to review?
I put on review and the audio plays fine https://360.articulate.com/review/content/399357bd-7202-49e8-b6b1-f19f2908f78f/review

Thanks for you help.
Publish to review is a 360 publish item at the top.
I tested in IE and Chrome and the audio plays. Did you check on your LMS? Any chance the MP3 MIME type is disabled?
I'm afraid you're over my head on that one. I'm just at the level of publish and play.
Have you tested locally or on your LMS?
Yes, I've tested it locally.
Hi Dan,
Testing content locally that has been published for Web or LMS, may cause you to encounter security or other browser restrictions and content won't play back as you'd expect. I'd recommend uploading to your LMS (or use a site like SCORM Cloud for free, easy testing) to confirm that everything is working as you'd expect!
Thanks Dan.
I'd upload the zipped published output to your LMS and take a look there to see how the audio is working. You could use SCORM Cloud if needed for testing if the file is under 100mb.

Again, thanks for everyone's time and advice.
Hi Dan,
How did you send it to your coworker? Also, did Leslie's version play for you?
You could also start by confirming your computer meets the minimum requirements here.
