.mp4 Interactivity

May 19, 2020

Hello:

I have been working in SL360 for several years now and love it! I have published all my projects either to our LMS as a SCORM package, or to the web as an .mp4. Recently I was given a project in which the SME wants to publish a SL project to a website, but the person also wants learners to be able to navigate around the project as needed -- interact with it. Is it possible to create a SL360 project, published to the web, that will allow a learner to interact with the content? If so, how does one go about it?

Thank you!

Hi Scarlett.

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes Community.

Publishing it in HTML5 format is a way to go since Adobe Systems will officially stop updating and distributing Adobe Flash on December 31, 2020:

  1. If you don’t need to track their progress, then web publishing is for you. You may check Storyline 360: Publishing a Course for Web Distribution.
  2. Otherwise, you may try Publishing a Course to Articulate Online. This makes use of Articulate Online, a hosted tracking and reporting system for e-learning content.
  3. If you're using a learning management system (LMS) to distribute and track e-learning content, you'll want to use the LMS publishing option in Storyline 360.

Here are some references to understand HTML5 more:

I hope this helps.
