I have some MP4 videos that I want to use in my Storyline class. However, when I import them, they are too blurry to use. I have tried "Resizing browser to optimal size" and locking it.
I tried a workaround suggesting that I copy the the original file to the story_content and renaming it to the file that Storyline created. This helps, but not enough.
Any ideas? I am on a tight timeline and really don't have time to reinvent the wheel.
I am using Storyline 2 I didn't create the orginal, so I am not sure of the dimensions The Storyline size is 750 X 542 I have attached the Articulate file. Both videos exhibit the same issue. You have to go to a bit more than half way through to where the instructor is demonstrating how to use the system. It is too blurry to use in its current form.
Unfortunately, the source for that video is very large at 1920x1080. When squeezed down to 750x542, this is causing some distortion of the video and reducing the quality of the original. It's basically squeezing it down to a quarter of the size. Three ways I can think of to fix it:
1) Recapture the screen recording at a smaller resolution.
2) Record another capture of your existing capture (running at full frame) with a smaller capture window - possibly one that moves around to follow the focused actions.
3) Make your storyline size mondo-big at 1920x1080.
I'd go with 1 or 2. Short of that, you'll really never be able to read the text which is very small compared to the large capture dimensions.
"2) Record another capture of your existing capture (running at full frame) with a smaller capture window - possibly one that moves around to follow the focused actions. " brilliant! I know this is an old thread but I was running into the same issue and this is what I am trying now. Fingers Crossed. Thanks!

Hi Sarah -
A few questions:
Hi Steve,
I am using Storyline 2
I didn't create the orginal, so I am not sure of the dimensions
The Storyline size is 750 X 542
I have attached the Articulate file. Both videos exhibit the same issue. You have to go to a bit more than half way through to where the instructor is demonstrating how to use the system. It is too blurry to use in its current form.
Thanks,
Sarah
I posted a reply to my question, with the original MP4 file. It was too big to email.
Thanks,
Sarah
Here is the original video Steve. I could not email it to you.
