Multi Checkboxes and Layers

Greetings,
I'm having trouble with using multicheck boxes to uncheck and check layers in my project. I've gotten 3 checkboxes to work but as I move on pass 3 checkboxes, all my layers disappear from prior checked boxes. I can't imagine there being a max of 3 checkboxes that can be used. I tried on the same format from scratch and am getting the same outcome on new stories created. Any suggestions?

Hey Noel. What you're trying to do is better accomplished using button states.
I've edited the first five rows to give you an idea how this works.
I converted your textboxes to graphics (shift-select each checkmark, right-click, choose "save as picture"), then made the default state "hidden"
There are two triggers: one for each of the states of your checkboxes. The two states are normal and hidden.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Hi Michael,
The explanation you provided was perfect and I understand now the button states would be a better fit for this project. However, if there are various ways of achieving the same outcome, why did not my initial setup with triggers was not a successful path? The logic of setting up those triggers made sense on paper I guess but it did not behave in Preview as intended.
I appreciate the insight and feedback.
Good questions Noel. I was actually stymied by the fact that you could even see more than one layer at a time. I didn't dig down into it because when I saw it I thought that the challenge was better solved using button states. That also frees up your layers for other things. Glad it's working for you.
