Multi Response question

Oct 27, 2021

Articulate 360 Storyline - After creating multi response question from template - responses exceed textbox containing responses - slider bar appears.

When attempting to resize all shrinks to one response size and will not expand.

Size and position functions will not work when trying to resize multiple response box. Width changes but height will not change.

Very frustrating - had to rebuild slide numerous times - different methods to resize but same result.

Hi Rodney

If it is a glitch, you can try this for an instance: Change height by using the arrows in 'Size' (no box draging) and see what happens with the box. You might uncheck 'Aspect Ratio'.

If it keeps reverting back to the size in the screenshot, upload (a part of) your source file, I'll look into it for you.

I took a look at your file, and I noticed when I looked at the Format Shape settings, it had "Resize shape to fit text" and "Wrap text". Unfortunately, no matter what I tried to do, those settings were grayed out, and I couldn't edit them. I created a new Multiple Response slide and checked the settings to see if they were the same, but the new slide had "Shrink text on overflow" and "Wrap text" checked instead. Again, I couldn't edit these settings for whatever reason, but with those settings checked, the fixed-height issue did not happen. You might just have to recreate the Multiple Response slide from scratch.

Hi Rodney,

I tried and I was able to change the textbox properties of the options themself but it is the main freeform box that seems to have a bad attitude. It always defaults to 30px height after changing the size properties bij input or dragging. Width is not locked in.

When the main freeform box is selected, it is normal behavior that textbox options are disabled (it's by definition not a textbox).

(Was this based on a built-in template? Then the Articulate team should be notified as this is most  certainly a bug under some circumstances..)

I agree with Jackie here: only rebuild will solve the issue (try not to copy/paste the source slide).

Good luck!

Hi

Had the same annoying issue today as Rodney, over 90 minutes of time wasted.

I went into the Slide Master and changed the size of the box, this allowed my text to fit

However when I changed the size of the box back in the quiz (to test the fix) it shrunk to one line like Rodney mentioned.

I think tech support needs to look at this
