OK, I'm stuck. I'm using the canned Multiple Choice question form, but when the Incorrect branches back to the base layer to let the student try again, the base layer won't reset to original. I have chosen "Reset... and everything else looks OK. What the heck am I missing?
Try changing the revisit property to 'automatically decide. Also the try again button should 'hide layer' not 'jump to slide' if you are trying to use the inbuilt functionality.
If that doesn't work - share the slide and someone can help you.

Well now I’ve really messed up. With the newest version of Storyline, I accidentally Published my course to Articulate online. Never meant to put THAT out there! Sorry, it’s frustrating to be dumb. How do I take that down off the Articulate site???
I just don’t know how to save or publish a slide or… maybe anything to a file like I used to, to send to someone. (And here I thought I knew how to use this SW, having successfully created and published to my LMS for a while now.)
I assume if you've published to Articulate Online it's only because you have an account and unless you share the link then no-one else will see it.
To share the .story file (the source Storyline file not the published file) here on the forum - click the Add Attachment button and navigate on your PC to where you have the file stored and attach it.

But the Incorrects go back to the Base Layer, and the base Layer doesn't reset to original so the student can try again. I can't think of anything else to fix that I haven't already tried. Unfortunately this isn't my first try - I've used canned question templates a lot before!

No I can't see anything - where are you uploading the file to? Can you click this link on your PC - it is the link to the post on the forum. When it open in the browser on your PC, scroll to the last post and reply to my post and click the grey 'add attachment' button that I've highligted in the image below.

all your quiz questions are set to 1 attempt so you are not going to get a Try again layer unless you increase that above 1 or am I misunderstanding what you mean?

Q: If I chose to create NON-graded questions, maybe I would never have seen this setting before? Since I generally force people to get the right answer before they go on, I have not tried the cumulative grading process… maybe ever.
