Multiple quizzes, quiz timer starts with the wrong quiz

Jul 28, 2017

Hi,

I have a storyline 2 project with multiple quizzes and multiple result slides.

The course consist of 5 modules (in individual scenes), each closed by a brief knowledge check, randomised from individual question banks. The knowledge checks have no quiz timer, as I don't want any pressure on the learner here.

The 5 modules are followed by the final assessment, which consists of 5 draws from question banks, one per module. These question banks are not the same I use for the knowledge checks. The final assessment has a 45 minute time limit. I set the timer on the last result slide to start with the first question.

When walking through the published course, the quiztimer starts with the first question from the first knowledge check, not the first question of the final assessment. Any ideas?

Thanks

Alex

Hi Alex!

Thanks for the details and sorry to hear that you've run into an issue with this.

We do have this issue reported internally and I will add this thread as we track user impact.

I wanted to share some information on how we define bugs and how we tackle them when they occur.

In the meantime, the workarounds we have listed are:

  • Disable the quiz timer
  • Adjust the timer to allow for enough time for the user to complete all questions

Sorry if this has slowed you down.

Hello Leslie,

I am thinking of an e-course with multiple sections, their corresponding quiz and corresponding final assessment(s).

For example, an e-course with the following sections:

- Grade A & Final Quiz

- Grade B & Final Quiz

- Grade C & Final Quiz

Users will be evaluated based on individual final quiz.  Can this be done?

Thanks

Thanks for clarifying that, Indrani!

I'm not sure which forum threads you've already seen, but I wanted to point you to some helpful information on how to design a branched quiz in this forum thread, as well as this one. The LMS can only track one Results slide, so ultimately you'll need 4 Results slides: one for each quiz level, and one to combine the results of all quizzes as shown in this tutorial.

Hopefully someone in the community will chime in and share specifics for your design!
