Multiple response question: Changing States on separate slide from free-form multiple response question.

Aug 06, 2020

I'm working on a free-form multiple response questions with 14 different options. The hope is to have some way of influencing a change in state on a separate slide, depending on the choices chosen by the user.

E.g. If a user chooses a mix of both correct and incorrect answers, the state should show some of the choices were correct. If they choose all correct, they are told they chose correctly. If they choose all incorrect, they are told they chose incorrectly.

I have tried using a number variable and a trigger to change state if a certain total is meet, however, this is not working with "some" response and "incorrect" response.

The SME wants different feedback on the states, dependent on the outcome of the user choice (all, some, none), but unsure what trigger to make this work as intended.

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for reaching out! You mentioned you're using a number variable to use totals to decide what state should be triggered, correct?

I recommend inserting a text box on your slide and going to Insert->Reference and select the number variable you created. That way, once you preview your slide, you'll be able to test in real-time what total is calculated.
